Long Jeannie Park Ponchitta Pierce Ellsworth George Stanton III Robert White Founded in 1894, Third Street Music School Settlement has played an important role in the cultural life of New York City for 118 years and, as the nation’s oldest community music school, is a model for community arts learning nationwide. After-school, Saturday and summer programs provide individual, group and ensemble instruction in music and dance to nearly 2,000 students of all ages and abilities. An additional 3,000 students, mostly from low- to moderate-income neighborhoods, are served through school and community partnerships. A licensed, music-focused preschool and a vibrant early childhood program ensure that the youngest children receive a solid music and dance foundation. More than 75 percent of all young students benefit from need-based financial aid, merit-based scholarships or subsidized courses. Proceeds from the Anniversary Luncheon benefit Third Street’s students in need. All table and ticket purchasers at the Friend level and above are invited to a VIP reception immediately preceding the Luncheon. Tables seat ten.
